Description: Color print. This map was prepared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Chemistry and Soils, in cooperation with the N. C. Department of Agriculture and the N. C. Agricultural Experiment Station. The soil survey was undertaken in 1932 by S. O. Perkins of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and E. F. Goldston of the North Carolina department. It portrays Brunswick County and shows the area and distribution of soil types in the county. Roads, railroads, cities and towns, churches, schools, and other components of the built environment are also shown. Legends reporting the colors used to indicate the various types of soil and the symbols used to note churches, schools, etc., appear in the upper left corner of the map inside the neatline.
